Care Guidelines

Reykjavik Raincoats are handmade and materials built to last, using only the best possible. We do not adhere to the quick-paced consumption habits of today, where a garment can be replaced virtually every other season. We promote more enduring consumption, where each item is chosen carefully and thoughtfully with the goal of wearing it for many years.

Washing guidelines

We recommend cleaning the coat with a wet cloth and soap if it is unclean or stained. The garment can also be machine-washed at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius on the delicates setting if the stains don't come out.

Only use liquid laundry soap.
Never use bleach or softener.
Don’t tumble dry.

Fold and crevice marks

Your coat may have creases and fold marks from being folded for transportation or stuffed into a closet for an extended length of time. These fold marks typically go after hanging your coat for a day or two. You can either steam the coat or iron it from the inside if you need it nice and smooth sooner. When ironing, place a cotton cloth between the coat and the iron, which should be heated to a low setting.

Storage

We advise hanging up your Rubberized Cotton raincoat while not in use. Avoid hanging items made of leather or darker denim next to one another since Rubberized Cotton is prone to stains from other substances. Particularly sensitive jackets are those with lighter colors.
